Mr. C. M. Croft, Canadian Trade Commissioner, left for Wellington yesterday afternoon. Mr. Ernest Healev, of Sydney, arrived in Auckland by the Wanganella to-day, and is at tiie Waverlev Hotel. Mr. ,T. S. Barton, S.M., chairman of the Companies Commission, left for Wellington hv the Limited last night. Mr. J. G. Buckingham, an English angler, who makes an annual visit to Rotorua, arrived by the Wanganella tliis morning. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Wilson, of Auckland, are aboard the Rangitiki, which is due at Auckland from London on October 24. Mr. A. W. Hauler, of Wellington, lias been appointed Xew Zealand representative of the Federation of British Industries. ill', and Mrs. P. 11. Upton, of Auckland, arc returning from England by the Rangitiki, due at Auckland 011 October 24. Mr. H. Welsh, manager of Claude Xcon Lights of Xew Zealand, Limited, returned from a visit to Sydney by the Wanganella this morning. The Rev. S. L. Boot, of Helensville. forwarded his resignation, on the ground of ill-health, to the meeting of the Auckland Presbytery last night. The Rev. B. Hutson, who next week will attain the jubilee of his ordination to the ministry, was congratulated by the Auckland Presbytery last night. Mr. J. L. Griflin, who luis been assisting the investigations of the Companies Commission in Sydney, returned by the Wanganella this morning, accompanied by Mrs. Griflin. The Rev. IT. IT. Barton, of Lawrence, Otago, was nominated by the Auckland Presbytery last night for the office of Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Xew Zealand for 1935-6. Mr. L. J. Le Cren, who is at present visiting Auckland, was last week reelected honorary treasurer of the Christ's College Old Boys' Association, a position he has held for the past 14 years. The Rev. I. E. Bertram will resign from the charge of St. Andrew's Church as from next Sunday, and the Rev. F. B. Barton was appointed by the Auckland Presbytery last night as interim moderator. Mr. H. 0. Melisop, president of the Auckland provincial branch of the Xew Zealand Farmers' Union, left by the express yesterday afternoon to attend a meeting of the executive of the union in Wellington. Captain D. P. Simson, general secretary of the British Empire Service League, who returned yesterday from a brief tour of the Dominion, leaves by the Wanganella to-morrow to attend the conference of the league in Melbourne. Mr. H. Burnett and Mr. A. Miller were reported at last night's meeting of the Auckland Presbytery to have done verywell in the examination exercises, and their ordination to the ministry was fixed to take place in St. Luke's Church on October 16. Captain Iv. L. Stewart, who has been to the Ceylon Staff Corps, arrived with Mrs. Stewart and their child by the Wanganella this morning, and leave by the Limited for Wellington to-night. Captain Stewart has been appointed to the Xew Zealand Staff Corps. The Rev. T. H. Roseveare, of the Papatoetoe Presbyterian Church, will leave early next month for Fiji, to relieve the Rev. H. McCosh, of Suva, for three months. During Mr. Roseveare's absence, the Rev. J. Butterworth, of Onehunga, will officiate at Papatoetoe.
