Beef.—We penned fat cattle to the number of 354 head, as against 314 head at last week's market, comprising 21a steers and 139 cows and heifers. Quality generally was first-class, and the demand and values were about on a par with last week's. Extra choice ox sold to £1 !)/ per 1001b; choice and prime, £1 6/ to £1 9/; secondary and plain, £13/ to £15/; prime young cow and heifer beef, £1 4) to £1 7/; secondary, 16/ to £1 3/.
