TRAMWAY SENSATION.

MAN THROWS HIMSELF ON LINE.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Throwinp: himself in the path of an oncoming tram, a mail aged al>ont 40 created a sensation in Courtcnay Place this evening. The incident occurred a few yards on the western side of the Tory Street intersection. The motorman of the tram, which was travelling into town, promptly applied the emergency brakes, and no harm was done. The man was arrested and taken to the Taranaki Street police station.
