LOANS CONVERSION.

CHEISTCHURCH RESOLUTION

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. .The Christehureh City Council this evening adopted a resolution for the conversion of all city loans. There was some opposition to the policy of complete consolidation, on the ground that it would mean the highly rated central area would have to bear an undue share of the interest burden incurred in part by suburban areas for their own special needs by polls of ratepayers. An alternative proposal for conversion with consolidation in 12 groups or areas was rejected and complete consolidation was approved.
