BEAR OF OAKLAND.
DEPARTURE FOR POLAR ICE.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent) DUNEDIN, this day. The Byrd expedition ship Bear of Oakland was docked to-day for a final touch up before making the trip to the polar ice. "The Bear," which has been equipped with a new mast and rigging, will be out of dock in a fortnight, when a definite date of departure will be •announced.
