He is not engaged on the first day at Ellerslie, but may probably race on Monday.- Lifeguard showed his..customary speed while running half a mile in 51s. Gay .Blonde and Tray Bit were given a strong found, finishing with a brush up the straight, both hitting out pleasingly. Nigh'tflight and- Kalonsoa showed speed whild traversing" half a mile in 51s. Both are making, good'progrees. Havering registered one' of his best efforts to date by Covering, a mile in 1.43 2-5, the first half taking 51 2-ss:> was assisted over the last six furlongs by Arch Ruler, this dis : tancejbeing covered in 1.16 4-5. Matorm and easing up at the end, ran .five furlongs in 1.7 3-5. Spearcourt began better than.: Lap Up and also shaped .a little better while running half a mile in 41 l-ss, Memnon pleased while covering "five''furlongs in 1.4. She may be raced on. Monday.,..
