To MaUunata district belongs tlie distinction of providing the group with the highest average lor August of all the 80 odd groups 111 the JS'cw Zealand Herdtesting Association. 'ihis was Mangawhero group (Tailioa district), which had the line average of 33.05 ib of fat for 1003 cows. Milk production averaged 7071b, and there was a high test of -1.07. The highest herd average was 41.191b of fat for 47 cows, anil lowest was 2211), and the top cow gave /.'Jib of fat. Another group high up on the list was Hinuera, with 858 cows averaging, 6041b of milk, test of 4.71 and 111.3411) of fat. One herd of 03 cows averaged 30.711b of fat, and the highest cow giive 791b of fat. 'J e Poi group, with 005 cows under test, had averages of 6SSIb of milk, test of 4.40, iind 29.011b of butterfat. The top herd for the month was one of 34 cows, averaging 35.471b of fat, and the top cow was credited with 011b. Jn the Okoroire group there were 1200 cows, the milk production was 628, the test_ 4.49, and average butterfat per cow 28.271b. A herd with 75 coivs under test topped the group averages with 40.91b of fat, and the highest cow gave 0711). Tirau group's 1212 cows averaged 6121b of milk, a 4.04 test, and 25.4411) of fat. The top cow gave 641b of fat, and the top herd averaged 45.51b of fat for 18 cows I under test. A high average production was main' tained by the 1025 "Tows in Waharoa group, namely, 6891b of milk, test of 4.62. and 31.851b of fnt. The top herd of 42 cows averaged 43.91b, and the top cow gave 711b.
