FOOTBALL DANCE.
TAKAPUNA RUGBY CLUB,
There was an attendance of over 200 at the Boating Club Hall, Bavswater, on Saturday evening when the Takapuna Rugby Football Club held its finst annual dance. IN Ir. Frank Sutherland, president of the club, was the master of ceremonies. The Pirate Sliippc Orchestra was in attendance. The supper tables were effectively decorated in the club colours, Iceland poppies and hyacinths being arranged in blue and gold vase-. A novelty dance was given by Miss Marehniont, and during the evening two presentations were made on behalf of the fourth and lift!) grade teams to the respective coaches, Sir. H. Fogarty and Mr. C. L. Cherney. Members of the ladies' committee present were: Mrs. It. G. Entrican, wearing amber georgette; Mrs. Loe, floral dimity; Mrs. M. Drowcr, black satin; Mrs. W. G. Matthews, Burgundy georgette; Mrs. Edmonds, black angel skin and tulle; Mrs. H. Fogarty, wine crepe suede; Miss Shaw, black floral taffeta; Mrs. A. Jensen, shell pink 111 a rocain. Also present were: Mrs. T. Arthur, emerald crepe suede; Mrs. Stanley Reid, dovo grey windswept satin; Mrs. 1!. Reid, shell pink georgette; Sirs. Bow, cornflower blue angel skin; Mrs. T. Boyd, daffodil crepe suede; Mrs. Randall, champagne georgette an*l lace; Mrs. JTollier, black angel skin; Mrs. Williams, black Chantilly lace; Mrs. Thorpe, flame taffeta; Misses Grace Levi, Phvllie Bow, R. Ward, V. Smart, M. and V. Blomfield, and X. Arthur.
