Mr. T. O. M. Sopwith Now Completely Disillusioned.

(C I am not heartbroken because I didn't win. but I am disgusted at the spirit in which internationalracing is conducted here," Mr. T. O. M. Sopwith, skipper of Endeavour, declared to-day. "I do not feel vindictive at my treatment at the hands of the New York Yadit Club, but I do feel completely disillusioned," he added. "I came to the United States for the good of the sport, but I found that the races were run as a big business, something I was not prepared to contend with." "Best Boat in the World." Mr. Sopwith said he was fully aware of the mistakes he had made during the contests, and of the last race he said: "My tactics were all wrong. All the errors made aboard the Endeavour from beginning to end were mine. The people of Gosport have built the best boat in the world." He praised all the members of the crew. Although he had stated emphatically after the final race that he would not challengo again, he was still in a fighting mood and now prefers to leave the question open.
He declared that he would not sell Endeavour but would race her in England.
