LYNNDALE AMATEURS.

FIXTURES. Saturday, Sept. 29.—25-Mile Senior, GJMile Junior Handicap Races. Again the much-favoured out-and-home course was used last Saturday, when tho Lynndale Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club conducted a combined race of 12% miles. A number of riders have decided to rest until the track 6ea6on opens, which evidently accounted for the small field that competed, although the weather was ideal for racing. Several parts of the course were in a loose state, which caused many spills and retirements. Both lan MacDonald and Phil. Johnson were unlucky to crash when in a handy position, while Jack Scott was even more unlucky to break a collarbone. Graham Hughes (scr.) is riding better than he has ever done. Riding on his own from scratch, he went right through the field to score a good win in the rccord-breaking time of 36.34, which beat the course record by 1.34. Eoy Campbell (30s) again showed what he is made of by gaining second place and second fastest time in 37.8, which incidentally also broke the existing record. Roy has struck form a little late in the season, but better late than never. Geo. Holton, in gaining third place, was also first and fastest junior in 44.43. He is challenging H. J. Robertson, who has now turned senior, for his lead in the junior fastest time trophy.

Ernie Carr was fourth, but was second and second fastest junior. He is starting to regain some of the form he was showing at the beginning of the season. Pat Smith was fifth to finish, but was third senior, which definitely puts him in the lead for the Points Cup.-

Ed. Vaughan (6.4i>) was fourth senior, which should encourage him on to a further place. Stan Alderson gained third fastest time in 39.22, while Harold Atchison, off 7.30, was third and third fastest junior. Next week the last club race will be conducted on the club's circuit. The senior race will be 25 miles, while the junior will be miles. A busy-bee will commence right away with clearing the track ready for the opening of 'the track season, three weeks hencc. The annual meeting of the club will be held at the Lynndale sports ground on Sunday, when the officers for the forthcoming season will be elected.

The presentation of trophies will bo held on October 10 at St. Thomas' Hall, New Lynn.
