METROPOLITAN CLUB'S MEETING. REID CUP TO HAMILTON. The Metropolitan Gun Club hclU a highly successful shoot on Saturday afternoon, when the principal events were a challenge for the It. T. Keid Cup and a £25 open handicap mntcli. Teams and shooters from various parts of the North Island competed, then- being close on 50 competitors in nearly all the mutches.

In tin? Held Cup contest the teams fielded were: Metropolitan A (holders of cup), Metropolitan H, Auckland, Morrlnsvillo, Hamilton and United. The total number of. shooters was 42, there being seven members to a team. The Hamilton team, comprising, C. Seddon, M. Pratt, T. Glenn, W. Woolven. J. McMullan, J. A. Malcolm and ,T. McMiken, all shot remarkably well. They established a slight lead early in the match und were never headed, finishing with a score of DO out of a possible of 103. Auckland were second with 90, while Metropolitan A and United tied with 94 for third place. The Hamilton Club will hold the cup until challenged and beaten. There was some good shooting in the £25 match. The possible of 21 was secured by D. I'. North (Whangarei), 10yds, J. A. Malcolm (Huntly), 14yds; I. Lomas (Auckland), 12yds, and A. Aitken (Morrinsville), 14yds, who divided the stake. Twenty breaks each were secured by M. Pratt (19yds), Otorohanga; C. Webber (14yds), Morrinsville; J. McMiken (15yds), T. Glenn (15yds), C. Seddon (19yds), W. Woolven (U.vdsl, Hamilton; W. Sharp (13yds), Morrinsville: Tj. I'eterson (lGyds). F. H. Seecombe (liiyds) and A. E. Macredic (14yds), Metropolitan. Results of the other matches were:— Seven Target Sweep.—Nineteen shooters broko the possible and divided the stake. Five Pairs Double Rise.—Jj. F. Ramsey (15vds), Metropolitan, Murray Pratt (17 yds), Otorohnnga, and N. McCallum (11 yds), Whnngarel, divided with the possible. Seven Target Gimerack. —F. H. Seecombe (13-25ydB) won with the possible. D. P. North (13-28 yds) and J. McMullan (1222yds) tied with six each for second money.
