FOOTBALL FORECASTS.
AN OFFENDER FINED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. A scheme by which David Llewellyn Price, while out of work, hoped to raise funds by forecasts of the results of football, matches, was described in the Magistrate's Court this morning when Price, a linotype operator, faced a charge of commencing a scheme whereby a promise was made to dispose of £10 by a mode of chance, by forecasting the final score in the Hawke's BaySouthland match on July 2S. Price was convicted and fined £3. The police stated that he had 10,000 pamphlets printed and rented a post office box.
