CIVIC SUNDAY.
GLEN EDEN METHODISTS, j Civic Sunday was observed in the Glen Eden Methodist Church last evening, when the newly-elected members o£ the Town Board attended the service. The sermon was preached by the Rev. G. Frost, of Auckland, from the text "Where there is 110 vision, the people perish." After congratulating the members on their election, he exhorted them to get a vision of God, which would enable them more faithfully to discharge their civic duties. Though their office was voluntary, their acceptance carried obligations to the best interests of the community. A duet was rendered, entitled "The Rugged Cross, by the Misses E. and M. Laurie, _ the organist being Mrs. W._ R. Harrison, assisted by Mr. Spencer, violinist.
