EMPIRE GAMES TEAM.

ARRANGEMENTS FOR WELCOME,

New Zealand representatives at the British Empire Games with the exception of the Rhodes Scholar, J. E. Lovelock, are due to arrive in Syduey from England by the Ormonde on Wednesday. Three of the team, F. J. Grose (Canterbury), L. Smith (ieilding) and T. G. Broadway (Canterbury) are to leave Sydney the following clay by the Maunganui, which is due at Wellington on October 1. N. Crump (Auckland), W. Whareaitu (Rotorua) and H. K. Brainsby (Auckland); the remaining members of the party, are to sail from Syduey a day later. They will be coming to Auckland in the Marama. The members of the team are to be suitably welcomed on their arrival. Mr. A. T. Davies, a vice-president of the New Zealand Olympic and British Empire Games Association, has been asked to arrange for a representative gathering of sports bodies in Auckland to meet Crump. Brainsby and Whareaitu. The other three will be the guests of the association at a function in Wellington at 3.30 p.m. ou October 1, to which representatives of the various sports bodies are to be invited.
