HOME SERVICE.

There was a largo attendance at th? monthly meeting -of the Home Service Association, held last week. Jhe office reported a very busy month, a great deal of work having been done in providing emergency help for families suffering from influenza. The new double offices on the higher floor of Yorkshire House, Shortland Street, were proving a great advantage in making for increased efficiency. A successful jumble sale was held the preceding week, and preliminary arrangements were made for the annual meeting, which is to be held in November. A new menrber, Mrs. Eric Friedlander, was welcomed to the committee.

A delightful afternoon bridge party was given by Mrs. A. Martin Ross at her home in Great South Road, Otahuhn, for the funds of the association. Nineteen tables were arranged in the drawing room and dining room, while.lionplayers enjoyed the afternoon in the garden and summer house. Guests were welcomed by Mrs. Ross, and the president, Mrs. J. T. F. Mitchell. Among the players were: Mesdames G. Cruickshank, T. Derrick, F. Bauer, H. Gulliver, A. Cameron, It. St. Clair Inglis, W.
