ONE HORSE POWER.
MXNTATTTRE MOTOR. CAB. REMARKABLE BRITISH VEHICLE. Numerous attempts have been made to produce miniature motor cars capable of carrying one, and in some cases, two, passengers, but such efforts have almost invariably been Ifche work of enthusiastic amateurs. Now a thoroughly practical vehicle has recently been evolved and developed by a British concern. This new miniature motor can be hanftled by the most inexperienced of drivers. Its maximum speed is about 15 milee an hour, and its extremely low build, coupled with fairly high engine revolutions, gives" a greater impreeeion of speed than is actually the case. Balloon tyres are fitted and the wheels are about 12in in diameter. A single pedal is the only control required. The brakes remain hard on until the pedal is depressed about half an inch, further depression accelerates the engine, and etill further movement of the pedal increases the epeed of the vehicle without the need for a change in the gear ratio. To remove the foot from the control closes the throttle and at the same time applies the brake. A neat casing behind the driver's seat discloses a one • horsepower engine, having the crankshaft supported in ball bearings. The engine is coupled to a clutch which comes into operation when the engine speed exceeds 800 reve. a minute. A small cylindrical fuel tank is fitted to give nearly eight hours' running at full speed. The weight of the whole vehicle is just over 2001b. An extensive 3emand for the car ie anticipated in England.
