AN "AT HOME."
PEOPLE'S HEALTH SOCIETY. An "At Home" given by the People's Health Society was held last evening in the Fabian rooms, Queen Street, the club rooms being filled with members and friends interested in the society. Tho convener and vice-president, Mrs. Mary Dreaver, assisted the two hostesses, Mrs. S. Kemp and Miss Sunday Stratford, to receive the guests. Mrs.S. Kemp wore a frock of black lace; Miss Sunday Stratford was ih a smoke, grey ring velvet and cherry coatee; and Mrs. Dreaver wore a floral panne velvet. A brief programme was presented, which included an exhibition of Greek exercises, a poetic group and point ballet, "A Fuchsia," in costume, by pupils of Madame Edith Baird. A solo dance was contributed by Miss Korah O'Halloran. Musical numbers were given by Madame -Veta Cornwall, Wallace Good, I. R. Johns, Messrs. Frank Cornwall, McVickers, The accompanist was Mrs. K. Eejd. Madame Baird, in a brief address, spoke on Greek dancing. She mentioned tho advantages of tho girls of to-day, with their free figures, and emphasised the Greek style of walking on the ball of the foot. Dr. Violet Hastings spoke on diet, saying that specialists now knew whether a diet were adequate or not. She stressed the importance of diet in boarding schools, and later quoted reliable authorities showing that living naturally was tho healthiest way. An address on health was also given by Mr. Herbert McLeod.
