MARRIAGE CEREMONY
Question of Procedure Being Considered. PLEASURE IN BRITAIN. (British Official Wireless.) (Received 1.30 p.m.) RUGBY, August 29. Exceptional interest has been aroused in the announcement of Prince George's engagement to Princess Marina. 1 hev left Salzburg to-day in company with tlio Prince and Princess Paul of ugoslavia, whose guests they will be at their villa on the shores of Lake Bled.
Prince George was at the wheel of the car in which he and his fiancee travelled, and their hosts followed in another car. Their Highnesses have'been overwhelmed with congratulations 011 their betrothal, and the King and Queen have also received many messages of congratulation.
No official announcement of the date of the wedding will be made, but the Press anticipates that it will take placo in London, probably in Westminster Abbey, in the late autumn. Precedents are being examined regarding the procedure. Formal consent to the marriage will be given by Ordcr-in-Council, following which arrangements for the wedding will be made under direction of the Duke of Norfolk as Earl Marshall.
Meanwhile, it is anticipated that Prince George will return to London in about a week or 10 days, and that Princess Marina will pay a short visit to London as the guest of the King and Queen.
N.Z. CONGRATULATIONS. MESSAGE FROM GOVERNOR. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The Governor-General, Lord Bledisloo, to-day sent the following message to Prince Ceorge: —"New Zealand sends Your Royal Highness warmest congratulations and best wishes for your happiness."
