FIRE TRAGEDY.
ORIGIN NOT ASCERTAINED. (From Our Own Correspondent.) TE AWAMUTU, Friday. The inquest into the deaths of Frank and Agnes Jary, when their home was destroyed by fire on Wednesday morning last, was completed at the courthouse this morning before Mr. A. A. Empaon, coroner. The only additional evidence tendered was that of Constable Forsyth, who was called by telephone at 4 a.m. He discribed the steps taken later to recover the bodies from the embers, and said that though it was impossible to identify the remains, he was, fully convinced they were the remains of Mr. and Mrs. Jary. Constable Forsythe spoke of his inquiries, and said he was satisfied there were no suspicious circumstances. Both Mr. and Mrs. Jary were happy in their family life, and held in the very highest esteem in the whole district. Mr. Empson said he, too, was satisfied there were no suspicious circumstances, and he would express sincere sympathy with the surviving family. He then recorded the following verdict: "That Frank and Agnes Jary met their deaths by fire when their house was destroyed at Kaipaki on the morning of August 8, . 1934."
