THEFT OF FURS.
HAWKER SENT TO PRISON. REFORMATIVE DETENTION". . (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Stated by the' police to have committed the thefts immediately after being acquitted in the Supreme Court on a charge of theft, Geoi%e Alexander Low, aged 31, hawker, was charged with the theft of six pairs of gloves, valued at three guineas, the property of Triggs and Denton, Ltd., and three furs, valued at £21 3/6, the property of Tossman and Co. Accused pleaded guilty on both charges, and was convicted by Mr. 13. Page, S.M., and . ordered reformative detention for two years on the second charge, and ordered to come up on the other if called" upon within two years. Accused was stated to have a formidable list of previous convictions, including breaking and entering.
