Liverpool Firm Gives £5000 to Local Charities. KING'S SPEECH DISTURBED. (Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 19. Because an aeroplane, advertising a well-known firm, flew over the Mersey Tunnel entrance during the King's speech at the opening, the firm, while announcing that its instructions miscarried, gave the Lord Mayor of Liverpool £5000 for charities as an atonement for the incident detracting from the impressiveness of the ceremony..
