ISSUE IN AUGUST.
RESERVE BANK NOTES. DESCRIPTION OF DESIGN. PICTURESQUE FEATURES. (By Telegraph .-—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The new notes of the Reserve Bank will be issued on August 1. Bundles of £1 and 10/ denominations have alreadybeen distributed to the offices of trad- | inrr banks in the main centres. Both notes are the same size, being about that of the ordinary note, which ( is now in circulation. The ten-shilhng note is henna-coloured, merging to pastel shades in the centre, with a diffusion of jade green. The one-pound note is deep mauve with pastel effect in the centre. The design is the same in both notes. On the left-hand side is a kiwi, and on the right-hand side a portrait ot Tawhiao, a picturesque figure an New Zealand history. The only signature to the notes is that of Mr. Leslie Lefeaux, the first governor. The central design on the reverse- side is a representation of Mitre Peak, Milford Sound. It is expected that the £5 notes will be available before August 1.
