ANNUAL BALL.
GRAMMAR OLD BOYS.
The Auckland Grammar School Old Boys' Association held their annual ball last evening, when Dixieland was well filled with dainty frocks and dancing enthusiasts. The committee were responsible for the excellent taste displayed in the decorations, the lighting effects in variegated colours adding a note of brilliancy. The supper tables were arranged in tne colours of the school, bowls of flowers and streamers adding a distinctive note of colour. As the gueste entered thj dance floor the well-known Grammar "lion" was seen on each side of the orchestral dais, while large replicas also adorned the entrance. Pennants of the. various schools who attended were hung in front of the cubicle occupied. They were: Sacred Heart College, King's College, Grammar Old Boys, Mount Albert Grammar Old Boys, I Prince Albert College and Old Boys Takapuna Grammar.
The guests were received on arrival by the president, Mr. A. J. Billington, and Mrs. Billington, the latter wearing a gown of flame crepe suede and ring velvet wrap. Among those present were: Mrs. H. J. D. Mahon, in a gown of blackspider web lace; Mrs. J. Poole, black patterned georgette; Mrs. Gordon Pollock, shell pink and black tartan georgette; Mrs. G. Tothill, claret lace; Mrs. P. Shorter', daffodil lace; Mrs. J. R. McCall, rose georgette; Mrs. H. Beeche, black glace silk and silver sequins: Mrs. Clifton Clarke, beige lace and petunia satin; Mrs. J. W.
