NORTHCOTE. A meeting of the Women's Christian Temperance Union was held in the Methodist schoolroom, Northeote, on Tuesday. Mrs. Hulbcrt presided. Mrs. Kasper spoke of flic importance of keeping up even small branches of the union, and the work they could do. She hail recently visited hotels in the city and had seen a. great deal of drinking amongst women, and urged that this matter lie given attention. Afternoon tea was served at the close of the address.
