INTRIGUE WITH GIRL.

Judgment Against Provincial Premier. JUDGE OPPOSES VERDICT. (Received 0.30 a.m.) OTTAWA, July 1. A Supreme Court jury has upheld the civil action of Miss Vivian MacMillan, stenographer, aged 22, and her father, Allan MacMillan, against the Premier of Alberta, Mr. J. E. Brownlec. The jury awarded Miss MacMillan 10,000 dollars and her father 5000 dollars. Mr. Justice Ives, who presided, said he strongly disagreed with the verdict. Ho did not enter judgment. On the motion of counsel for the defence for dismissal of the action he reserved his decision. The case had lasted six days. Miss MacMillan alleged that the Premier had been concerned in an intrigue with her over the period of three years, 1930-33.
