MISSING TYPEWRITERS
TWO TAKEN FROM SCHOOL
SUSPECT APPEARS EN COURT
Claiming to be the representative of a city firm dealing in typewriters, a man visited the St. Benedict's Convent School in Newton early last evening and took two typewriters away, as he is alleged to have stated, "for repairs." As he did not return at the time stated, the sisters became suspicious and the police were informed.
About. 8 o'clock hiet night a suspect was arrested by detectives, and charged with the theft of the two machines.
This morning, Truman Wiltshire, aged 31, a clerk, appeared in the Police Court, charged with stealing a typewriter valued at £8 15/, and another valued at £15, the property of the St. Benedict'.-; Convent School.
On the application of Senior Detective Hall accused, for whom Mr. Aekihs appeared, was remanded until July 5.
