Mr. G. W. Clinkard, Secretary of the Department of Industries and Commerce, and general manager of tho Tourist Department, left Wellington by tho Makura yesterday on a visit to Australia.

Mr. G. R. Bisham luas been appointed, secretary of the- Franklin Agricultural and Pastoral Society, to fill the vacancy left by Mr. H. E. Kissling, who has r been appointed secretary of the Manawatu Agricultural Association.
