WELLINGTON, this day. Tho anti-cyclone located over New Zealand yesterday became intense, but is now moving away eastwards. A deep depression with a considerable northward extension has developed over the western Tasman Sea.

The forecast is for moderate but gradually increasing north-east to north winds, weather fine and milder, but becoming unsettled after about 24 hours, with ram developing; seas moderate, but later rising on west coast.
