FRANKLIN POWER BOARD.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) PUKEKOHE, Monday. The Franklin Electric Power Board held its regular monthly meeting at Pukekohu to-day. Line Construction. —The engineer, Mr. L. G. Sharp, reported that work was proceeding on the new Pollock-Awhitu line, and that 2(3 main line poles, including two transformer sub-stations, had been completed. In addition, 90 chains of 11,000-volt wiring, 80 chains of 400-volt wiring, three 11,000-volt switches, two transformers, and one outdoor condenser, had been erected at Awhitu, thus completing the line as far as Mr. J. N. Irwin's property. New Service Lines.—A total of 40 new service lines were erected during the month. An application has been made to the Auckland Harbour Board for the necessary permission, and also the conditions governing the proposed 11,000-volt cable which will span the Manukau Harbour between Waiau Pa and Te Torn points.
