MOTOR CYCLE NOTES.
R. VINALL LEAVING. HOLDS MANY RECORDS. The motor cycling sport will lose a popular rider when R. Vinal), of Cambridge, sails by the Makura from Wellington on Friday, on hJ3 way to England. Without including his reputation of having more machines than any other rider in .the Dominion, Vinall has a good list of records to his credit. On Hemiing's Speedway, Mangere, he holds the record for the fastest lap on a 3J h.p. machine, 54 2-os; the fastest lap on a 2 J h.p. machine, 54 3-ss; and the fastest racing time for five laps on any machine, 4.02 Last Easter, riding a 2] h.p. Vclocette, he broke all previous records in all classes on the Gisborno track, his lap time, 525, being 2 seconds less, than the record established by Coleman and unassailable for several years. He has also established a new Jap record for .'U h.p. machines on the Opotiki track, where hie time was 49e. In. England, Vinall hopes to continue his riding, and those who have known him on New Zealand tracks will look forward to seeing mention of his name amongst the stars of the Old Country.
