There is a distinctly novel building at Tattingstone, in Suffolk. In 1750 the local squire had to build three cottages for his labourers. Aβ only one site wae available, and he did not wish to spoil the view from his mansion, he had the cottages constructed in a group, with their side and front views a replica of a Xonnan church. The only exterior differences are the facts that the tower i> false (having only three sidee), and that the chimneys appear out of the nave roof. There are ten roome. Bedroom windows occupy what would normally be the east window. The cottages are etill inhabited.
