WOMEN DO MIND.
STATING THEIR AGE.
MOTOR DRIVERS' LICENSES.
CANTERBURY OBJECTIONS,
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
CHRISTCHURCH, this day,
Although men do not mind having to state their agee every year when applying- for drivers' licenses, women do. This opinion was expressed by Mr. McKellar at a meeting of the Eiccarton Borough Council.
"It is a foolish regulation," he continued, "for the only ones interested in the applicants' age and the only ones who see the detaile are local body clerks." All that should be necessary was for the applicant's age to be filled in as "over fifteen."
The Mayor was asked to take the matter up with the Transport Department in Wellington and the town clerk was instructed that in future applicants should be asked only if they were "over fifteen."
