WEAK DEMAND FOR WAIHIS. (By Telegraph.—l'ress Association.) CHRISTCHUECH, this day. As usual for the first call of the week, business on the ChristchureU Stock lixcliange was quiet this morning, and only a few sales were put- through. Although price changes were not numerous, there "was a lii)tle strength in the maiket. In Government stocks there were few sellers, but buyers held rigidly to their reserves. In the banking section buyeis for New Zealands dropped their limits to £2 7/9, While, holders moved up 2d, to, £2 S/S. . Commercials were steady, with buyers at IG/. New Zealand Kefngerating were verv steady, with fresh business in the contributing issue at 9/2, after which there were more sellers at that ngure. There were no special features m the morning, except the wide margin between buyers and sellers of Yv amis at ±> l J.U/ and £l 14/.
