F. J. SMITH'S HORSES. Owing to being a few minutes late in making his acceptance to-day, l< , . J. Smith will bo unable to start any of hi« horses at the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting on Wednesday. He intended to accept with six horecs, the only ones entered that would not have had their engagements continued being Chancellor and Nell Volo. Smith put a ring through from his home at l'iipakura, but before he could get into communication with the Auckland Trotting Club's otViee it was a few minutes after closing time, and, of course, the acceptance could not be taken.
