Beats Young Rodney by Narrow Margin. Kelson's Glory was not harnessed up for the Winter Handicap, and Ganton (£500), Young Rodney (£348) and Waikato Prince (£328) were in most demand, the first-named getting the verdict after a close finish. Singing Bird broke at the start, losing ground, and Grand Triumpti began best from Waikato Prince, Audo Patch, Young Rodney, Ganton and Singing Bird. Manna's Son, who was breaking badly going out of the straight, 'interfered with Singing Bird, and running out wide was pulled up. Passing the stand the next time Young Rodney had charge from Ganton, Grand Triumph, Autumn Lu and Gala Day. The order was the same along the back. Crossing the top Ganton and Young Rodney were, racing on terms, followed by Gala Day four lengths further back, and Autumn Lu three lengths away, with Grand Triumph next. Young Rodney broke entering the straight but got down quickly, and the order when they straightened up was Ganton, Young Rodney, Gala Day and Autumn Lu, with Grand Triumph following. Young Rodney challenged Ganton over the final stages but failed to reach him by half a head, with Gala Day two lengths away. Autumn Lu was fourth, then eamo Grand Triumph and Waikato Prince. An Easy Victory. . Electric Bells was the only defection in the Mangere Handicap, and when the machine closed Aircraft (£540) Kewpie's Bond (£357) and Pink Lady ( £292) were the chief selections, the first named scoring an easy victory. Star Pronto, Agnes Bingen and Anthony's Gift broke up at the start, Agnes Bingen taking no part in the race. Favourite's Narrow Win. Linclla, Chenwood and Arabond were withdrawn from the Adams Memorial Clip, and the Worthy Light-Wrecker bracket ( £1037) was in strong demand, with Tempest ( £454) and Willie Derby (£451) also in request. When the field had reached the top, Worthy Light took charge and led past the stand from Tempest, Willie Derby and Wrecker; then came Brentlight and Peter Pirate, with Auto Machino about a dozen lengths away. Tho order was the same the next time round, and along the back, Worthy Light showing the way across the top from Tempest and. Willie Derby, with Peter Pirate moving up fast, followed by Wrecker, Brentlight and Auto Machine. Wrecker was fourth; then came Willie Derby, Auto Machine and Brentlight. Outsider Lands Stewards'. All but Nell Volo went to the post in the Stewards' Handicap, for which Bessie Parrish (£702) and Moko Girl (£456) were best backed, but the outsider of the field, Billy Carbine, who carried £195, led throughout and paid a fair price. Koi Grande tangled at the start and .lost a lot of ground, and Billy Carbine was soon a dozen lengths in front of Moko Girl, with Mr. Penalty eight lengths further back and Bessie Parrish next. Passing the stand Billy Carbine was well clear of Bessie Parrish, the pair showing the way to Moko Girl, Explosion and Mr. Penalty (breaking). Along the back Billy Carbine still held sway from Bessie Parrish, Explosion, Moko Girl (breaking) and Roi Grande. Billy Carbine turned for home two lengths ahead of Bessie Parrish, then came Koi Grande and Explosion.
