NEW GUINEA DEATHS.

Report to Australia of Five Murders. HEADS HANDED OVER. (Received 10.30 a.m.) CANBERRA, this day. An investigation of a raid by natives on the village of Mogomotei, in the Sepik River district of New Guinea early in the year revealed that a man, three women and two children have been killed and decapitated. This information is contained in an official report received by the Prime Minister's Department. A patrol officer arrested the tribesmen alleged to be responsible for the murders. One native was wounded and died. Other natives reluctantly handed over the heads of the murdered persons.
