Sentence Passed for Assault On Woman. STEEPLECHASE INJURY? (Received 1.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. A sentence of 10 strokes of the lash and 18 months' imprisonment, with hard labour, was imposed by Judge Woinarski on Frederick Cusdin, aged 23, a married man, on his conviction on a charge of assaulting Miss Irene Panioty and causing bodily harm. Counsel for tl>c accused called evidence to show that Cusdin, who was once a jockey, had met with a serious head injury when ho fell while riding in the Great Northern Steeplechase in New Zealand.
