AWFUL SUSPICION.
POISON DRAMA SEQUEE. WIFE'S WIDOWER FRIEND. "I am perfectly innocent. I am prepared to face any action that the police may take." There was a passionate undercurrent in the voice of Mr. Harry Sinclair as he uttered these words. 1 Ho is the man who, a Coventry jury decided, was instrumental in Mrs. Mary Jane Cole securing poison with which she committed suicide by drinking in whisky. "I know what people are thinking about me," lie said. "They believe Mrs. Cole and I wanted to get rid of her husband. It is not true, sir. I have been pestered by the police. They have taken statements from me over and over again at all times of the day and night. My job is gone. People may look at me queerly, but I have nothing to hide. There is nothing on my conscience—only sorrow that Mrs. Cole is dead. We were very fond of each other.
"It is true I brought cyanide home from where I used to work. Tt was for wasps' nests—nothing else, I swear. I never gave any of it to Mrs. Cole. She may have taken it from here, but I think I should have known abolit it if she had. Eleven years I have been here with ray wife — when she was alive — and my children. Now there is nothing but questions, questions, and suspicion. Coventry police, with the co-operation of Scotland Yard, arc continuing inquiries.
