FRANKLIN RACING CLUB.
The Franklin Racing Club will hold an extra meeting at Pukekohe on Saturday, July 21, and with the excellent programme provided, the stake money for which totals £770, good fields should be attracted. The President's Handicap, one mile and a quarter, and the Franklin Steeplechase, about two miles and a half, are both endowed with £130, and form the chief events of the day. The other items are: Bombay Hurdles of £110, about one mile and five furlongs; Pukekawa Maiden Handicap of £90, six furlongs; Harrisville Hack Handicap of £100, seven furlongs and 22 yards; Puni Hack Handicap of £100, six furlongs; and Paerata Handicap of £110, seven furlongs and 22 yards. Nominations close with the secretary, Mr. W. J. Short, Pukekohe, or the secretary of the'Avondale Jockey Club, Mr. A. J. Farquhar, Victoria Street, Auckland, at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 6.
