Clay) chose the Shares in ALEXANDER MINES, LTD., and gave the following reasons:— "(1) Ore reserves are now larger than for some time past. There is no reason to suppose this Mine will prove less valuable than Blackwater, which is working the same reef system a few miles away. (2) The shares nominated arc fully paid, but there is £14,050 uncalled capital available from contributing Shareholders for finance should ore temporarily run out. (3) More economical methods of working ore now being put in hand in the installing of a roasting furnace for concentrates and meqhanieal drills for working underground. (4) The shares are temporarily depressed through the strike. (5) The price of gold appears likely to remain steady." COMMENT.—We have always recommended Alexander Mines as a Mining Investment. As in all gold mining concerns the shares fluctuate in price, but the mine is a solid, well-established one and a j dividend-payer. The shares are always good buying when they are anywhere round; about 15/ or 36/ as now, and invariably show capital appreciation when bought at these figures. The strike referred to by Mr. Clay is now settled. MISCELLANEOUS PARCELS OF SHARES .
