PONSONBY CLUB.

The fortv-first annual gonernl meeting of! the I'onsoiiby Bowling Club was held on j Wednesday evening, when there was a large] attendance of members. The outgoing president. Mr. .T. D. Webster, congratulated the club on the sound financial position disclosed in the balancesheet and on the excellent state of the greens. lie thanked the outgoing oflicers for loval support and co-operation during the season. Mr. 11. X. Hunt was elected president for Hie ensuing term, and in returning thanks for the confidence placed in him said that ho realised that lie had a hard job before him to emulate his predecessors in office. He mentioned the excellent work done by Mr. F. A. Harris in organising the night tourneys, which were such a huge success. He also mentioned the good work done by Mr. and Mrs. Mclvor in conducting Hie card evenings. He expressed the gratitude of the club for the splendid work done by Mr. J. Kolfe as treasurer and for assistance on the greens over a period of years. Ho said that through the increased revenue from various sources the club had been enabled to reduce the mortgage by £100. After lengthy and earnest discussion in which a large number of those present took part, as to whether the club should again enter for the pennant competition, and whether the best teams available should be selected, it was decided on close voting to again enter and to select the best teams. The following oflicers were elected for the ens:.ing season : Vice-presidents, Messrs. W. T. Brown, G. Grey Campbell and W. .T. Eovett; honorary secretary, Mr. 11. J. Colebrook; honorary treasurer, Mr. R. 0. Thompson ; selectors, Messrs. B. H. Johnson, C. W. Payne and J. Veale: delegates to centre. Messrs. H. N. Hunt, 11. .T. Colebrook and R. C. Gray: committee, Messrs. A. Ei Edwards, J. A. Fnnch, G. F. Frieberg and A. J. Lefham; club reporters, Messrs. R. C. Gray and D. E. Goldwatcr.
