DEFENCE NEARS END.
FINAL STAGES OF BAYLY TRIAL. JURY TO REVISIT SCENE OF TRAGEDY COUNSEL ATTACKS CROWN ALLEGATIONS. Suggestions that the human bones found on the farm of William Alfred Bayly, charged with double murder, may have come from some Maori burial ground or from the "digs" of a medical student were among the many theories advanced by Mr. E. H. Northcroft in continuation of his address in defence of accused this morning. With nearly five weeks completed, the end of the trial is in sight. In reply to a question by Mr. Justice Herdman at the luncheon adjournment to-day, Mr. Northcroft indicated thai he would conclude his address to the jury this afternoon.
Arrangements have been made for the jury to revisit the scene of the tragedy at Ruawaro to-morrow. It is regarded as an all-day journey, and it is now expected that his Honor will sum up on Saturday.
