PAYING DOCTORS.
Government to Help
Needy Patients.
PROFESSION HARD HIT. SYDNEY, June 20. The New South Wales Minister of Health, Mr. R. D. Weaver, announced in the Legislative Assembly to-day that the State Government, from July 1, will subsidise doctors who attend indigent persons too' ill to leave their homes for hospital treatment. Mr. Weaver said the doctors in industrial districts were earning little more than the basic wage owing to the inability of patients in some instances to pay medical fees. Due precautions would be taken to guard against fraud and imposition.
