Two years ago a couple oE magpies owned by Mr. W. Raine, a, Consett, County Durham, naturalist, vanished from their cage. Recently residents in the little old farm village of Castleside, near Consett, were amazed to find that two magpies had built their nest just outside the house now occupied by Mr. Raine.
