BANKS FALL FURTHER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHKISTCHUKCH, this day. A fair amount of business has beeu put through on the Christchurch Stock Exchange, with values generally indicating a weaker tone. Government stocks show no appreciable change, but it would appear that the rise which persisted in recent months has been definitely checked. At this morning's call Commercial Banks were easier, with sales at 10/, and with more available at that figure. Bank of New Zealands were still weaker, with sellers at £2 8/10, and best buyers stopping at £2 7/6. New Zealand Breweries were virtually unchanged, between £2 2/3 and £2 2/8.
In the mining section there was a sharp drop on Waihis, which were available at £1 12/9, with best buyers at £1 10/. Miscellaneous scrip showed few changes. CHRISTCHURCH, this. day.
