"MISSING" Thinking of rest cures one naturally thinks of the country! and when a nerve specialist tells James Thorp of "Department X 2" of the Secret Service that he is faced with the alternatives of a three months' rest cure or a nervous breakdown, his thoughts revert to the letter he has received from his chum, Dick Vivian, offering him the use of his bungalow, "The Hutch," which is at Plymchurch, and not far from the Kentish Coast. The Secret Service man accepts the offer, but when he reaches the bungalow he discovers that he has stepped not out of adventure, but into it when Venetia Delvy—the girl concerning whom an S.O.S. message has just been broadcastknocks at his door. Why is she "missing?" The answer forms the theme of SOS By SYDNEY HORLER which will begin in the magazine section of the "Auckland Star" on SATURDAY NEXT. Further instalments will be published daily. -
