PLYING HANDICAP., First Division : TAVERN KNIGHT, 7:6 —O'Sullivan ... 1 KALA MOTI, 9.O—D. Munro .... 2 CANE GRASS, 9.0 —McCarten .... 3 Twelve started. This was, Tavern Knight's first race in Australia. He did not' start well, but finished with a line burst of speed, and won by a short head. Time,-1.203 —a race record for six furlongs and a half.
