RAILWAY DANCE.
FUNCTION AT OTAHUHU. Beneath softly shaded lights, a ceiling of streamers of every hue and colour, Tudor lamps, revolving spot lights and a twinkling mirrored , crystal bowl, danced a happy and merry crowd when the Otahuhu railway workshops social committee held its annual ball in the workshops' spacious dance hall, Otahuhu. The grand march, led by Mr! and Mrs. H. Johnson, in which over 400 took part, revealed the many lovely frocks of the ladies present, and opened to an evening of gaiety. The ladies' committee, comprising Mesdames A. Johnson, H. Revel], J. McDowell, C. Leadbrook, G. Miller, If. Goldsmith, A. Cotterill, F. Ainsley, F. Sampson, S. Clark, E. Clark, Stone, R. Niell Young and J. Guest, had complete charge of the supper arrangements. Mrs. McDowell was responsible for the supper room decorations, which were carried, out in autumn tints, the walls of the room being lined with flags, loaned by the Navy. Messrs. J.
