MANY FLOODS. TRAFFIC DELAY. RAILWAY LIME BLOCKED. WEATHER NOW IMPROVING. There are reports of floods fron; all over the province, vitli ;t general dii creation of rail anil road traffic in the North. a In a number of places the norcoern roads are still impassible, while a s-.:p on the railway lino :tt the \Yaitak?ra Tunnel and flood water over the line at places north of Kaukapakapa have put the northern train service out of commission for the time being. However, arrangements have been made for a train and boat service, ;he latter from Helensville to Dargaville, which will restore transport to Whangarei this afternoon. In Auckland the weather cleared to day, with a promise of better tuir.gs. There had been a fall of 2.15 inches for the 24 hours' period which ended at 9 o'clock this morning, although these figures were considerably larger in parts of the province. Close to Auckland the flooding was fairly serious in the-Kumeu district, while at Muriwai Beach the rapid rising of a creek ilooded a relief workers' camp. The camp had to be abaindonci and other shelter had to be found for the womeu and children for the night, At noon to-day the Automobile Association reported that the road conditions in North Auckland area were much improved.
