INVESTMENT STOCKS AND SHARES. COMPARISONS OF RECENT TRANSACTIONS. TO TUESDAY, JUNE 19. 'Hie following table furnishes a guide to investors. It shows the trend of the market over twelve months for a comprehensive list of securities, at the same time indicating the latest movements, namely, from a week ago tc the date of compilation. The rate of interest obtainable to present day purchasers is also presented, the calculations based on the latest dividends. fSince last review market values have eased for gilt-edged scrip, and lower prices have been recorded for bank and insurance shares and also for some leading industrials. Government securities, after touching new high levels, now appear to bo fairly steady. Mining shares have been traded freely, but with some unsteadiness in values. It will be noted from the figures quoted below that most stocks have shown an appreciable advance over the last .twelve months, and as dividends have, generally speaking, not been raised, the interest return to present purchasers is correspondingly reduced.
